Minimum Rental Period: All motorhome rentals are for a minimum of three nights. Some holiday periods require a four night minimum.
Pick Up & Return Times: Pick up is between 2pm and 4pm Monday thru Friday. Please call a few days before your scheduled rental dates to schedule a walkthrough and pick up time at our California locations. Returns are due back between 8am and 11am on your scheduled return day. Because of our busy rental schedule, it is imperative that rentals are returned on time. Should you be late, you are delaying the next renters. A late fee of $50.00 per hour will be charged until the unit is returned. There are no refunds for early returns.
Driver Requirements: All drivers must be listed on the reservation form and a copy of their driver's license given to our rental agent prior to departure. All drivers must be at least twenty-five years of age. All drivers must have current proof of insurance. No special drivers license is required to drive a motorhome.
Insurance Responsibility: Renter represents on the rental application that he or she carries automobile liability insurance in at least the minimum limits prescribed by the financial responsibility laws of the state of California.
Booking Procedures: A deposit of $200.00 is due at the time of reservation. This is applied towards the motorhome rental. The balance of the rental, plus a $500.00 security deposit is due at pickup. The security deposit will be refunded when the rental is returned undamaged. We also reserve the right to apply the security deposit to any excess charges that you may incur. We accept cash, money orders, Master Card, Visa, American Express, and Discover cards. Sorry, we cannot accept personal checks within fourteen days of departure. August 24th - September 7th a $1000.00 security deposit is required.
Cancellations & Changes: There is a $50.00 nonrefundable cancellation fee. To receive the remainder you must cancel 30 days prior to departure. If the rental is cancelled within thirty days of the departure, 100% of the reservation deposit will be charged. NO EXCEPTIONS. Contract changes may be made one time at no charge. Additional contract changes will result in a $25.00 fee. No refunds will be given on the days that were originally booked then shortened if within 30 days of departure.
Familiarization walk-thru: The walk-thru is given at the time of pickup. It takes approximately thirty minutes and is required to acquaint the renter with the operation of the motorhome rental. If you are departing on the weekend, your walk-thru will need to be scheduled for a weekday prior to your pickup. (Note: Trailers depart Monday-Friday ONLY, no weekend pickups.) Please call the week before departure to confirm your time. If you are late for your walk-thru, you will have to wait until the next available time, which maybe 4pm. No walk-thrus will be scheduled after 4pm or on weekends.
Motorhome Rental Policies: All rentals are non-smoking units. In most of our units, we cannot allow any pets due to health issues. However, we do have a limited number of pre-assigned Pet Friendly units. No towing is allowed under any circumstances as it voids any warranty as well as insurance coverage.
Can you pick me up? Sorry, we are unable to accommodate out of town renters with airport pickups. However, we are only about fifteen minutes from the airport and a taxi ride should not be too expensive.
Do I have to return the unit to Sacramento, California? Yes, we do not offer one-way rentals.
What if I have problems or breakdown? If you experience equipment operation problems you should refer to the Rental RV 101 Book provided to you at departure. If you have some type of engine failure or if your problem persists, at departure you will also be given an emergency contact number to call for assistance. All our rentals are under factory warranty and we can direct you to the nearest dealer. Hopefully, depending on the problem, we can tell you how to fix it.
What does my vehicle need to tow a trailer? 1) It has to be rated for towing at least 5,000 lbs. 2) A Class III 2-inch receiver; 3) Brake control; 4) 7-way plug; 5) Both side mirrors. These items MUST be installed prior to the Departure Date.
I would like to leave early in the morning and pick-up time is not until 2pm? We suggest that you rent the unit the day before you wish to leave to give yourself time to take it home, pack and be ready to go first thing in the morning.
Can I leave my car at your lot? Because of very limited space, we cannot allow renters to leave their automobiles at our California locations. Please have a friend or family member drop you off to pick up you rental.
Can I return the unit on a weekend? If your rental ends on a weekend, you may return the unit before 11 AM on your return day. Because our Rental and Service departments are not open on weekends, you will be shown where to park the unit, asked to lock it up and give the keys to our Sales department. On Monday morning, our rental department will check in the vehicle and advise you. Note: No returns on Saturday, Sunday or Monday on major holiday weekends.
What needs to be done and how clean does the unit have to be when I return it by 11 AM? The unit should be as clean as it was when you picked it up. The holding tanks should be empty or a $40.00 dump fee will be charged. All appliances wiped down, floors swept and mopped. The interior needs to be clean or a 2 hour minimum cleaning fee of $75.00 per hour will be charged. There is no need to refill the water tanks and don't worry about the propane, we will take care of it. We do not require you to wash the exterior of the unit unless for some reason you got it unusually dirty. Gas tank should be topped off or $8.00 per gallon will be charged.
Can I attach my bike rack to the back? You may bring your bike rack with you when you pick up the rental. One of our employees will mount it to the back of the unit. If for some reason it does not fit, we will rent you a bike rack for $30.00 for the first seven days, then $3.00 per day after that (if available). Our bike rack will hold up to four bikes.
Can I put chains on the motorhome if I hit snow? Absolutely not. If you should run into snow, pull over and stop until the road is cleared.
